¿WHAT IS IT ABOUT McDONALDS & BLACK AMERICANS?

So I am watching the other day and a commercial came on, it was McDonald's Ad. Now I've many over the years, but something hit me, WHY DOES mcDONALD'S ALWAYS FEATURE BLACK AMERICANS? But I have to give it to the fine folks @ McDonald’s; in these trying economic times, they prove their marketing savvy by creating some of the most catchy, stereotypical commercials to keep Black folks coming back for more McRibs and Fruit & Yogurt Parfaits[1]. Case in point is the latest installment in their “R&B McNuggets” series, which combines three things Negroes simply can not resist: Chicken, R&B Music, and Lightskinnded Women. Witness this…
This is one of the stupidest commercials I have ever seen. Why are these people singing about McNuggets? Do black people sing about everything? This chicken seduction is over the top even for MickieDs. Tell me what you think? Don't commercials like this FURTHER segregate the black community in America by portraying McDonald's as the the next place after the barbershop and beauty salon to be?

  1. My friend, the Golden Arches marketing strategy isn't about what Black people actually do. It's all about what THEY want all Black people to think they do. It is a very, carefully construed, subtle form of racism.

  2. LMAO- even though it is truly not funny it is a minstrel parody that is subtly crafted to spark sales and make fun at the same time.

  3. LOL. Very funny. But there is a method to their madness. Just look at our inmer cities. There's practically a Micky Dees on every corner, when there isn't a liquor store.

    Do the math.

  4. You know, I haven't had a McRib sandwich in about 15 years and now you've got me hungering for one. But to answer your question, NO.

Not all black people like the same thing. Not all black people live at the same socio-economic level nor have the same aspirations, needs and or wants. McDonalds appeals to a certain segment of the population of both black and white and few segments in between; and it is to those groups that their commercials are aimed at.

  5. The PR people and the marketing department at the McDonalds Corp are good at what they do; they are fully aware that Black folks like quick food and especially that of chicken or ribs however, chicken nuggets and McRibs are the worst, but yet people still seem not to get enough of them.

I gotta admit the commericals always catch my attention, I was just thinking about the one when the wife goes into the daycare to pick up the kid and the husband can't resist the temptation and goes straight for the McRib, even placing the babies bib on to protect his shirt from food stains and drips.

  6. Mcdonalds and black people go way back to segregating times when Mcdonalds cared enough to not descriminate when most couldn't give a fuck. The racist statement came in rnb, chicken and light skinned women.

  7. @ ever one who thought it was racist: Bwahahahahahahahaha! Oh dear sweet christ balls. Not everything is a subtle, overt, intentional, unintentional, or whatever other adjective you want to throw in front of it act of racism. But consider this; if Mcdonalds NEVER featured black people there'd be acusations of racism, if they portrayed black people who the "black community" didn't consider to be accurate or "white washed" there'd be accusations of racism, if they portray the opposite of "white washed" blacks then they're unfairly enforcing a racist stereotype and there'd be accusations of racism. Now this isn't a problem without a solution. We can either A.) Get the fuck over ourselves and realize we are getting upset over something as trivial and inconsequential as a fucking commercial or we can B.) Overreact like we always have as a country when it comes to issues with the fabricated division between differing racial groups and form a committee or board formed entirely of diverse black people who will dictate what is an acceptable portrayl of black people in American media. I'm thinking we'll probably end up doing the latter or maybe I'm just being racist.
@ Gatekeeper thank you for posting this. While I couldn't be bothered to care these commercials frequently feature black people I was also irritated that they always seemed to be fucking singing or rapping about something as dumb as chicken an ribbs.

  9. LMAO@Curious because those McRib commercials got me THIRSTY for one!
Anyway, the commercials are aimed at black people because we are probably the number one consumer of that mess. Where I grew up (an all black area)there was literally a McDonald's on every single corner (next to a Korean hair supply and a Church's chicken). BUT, you have to go out of your way to find a grocery store (with healthy fruits and veggies).
I never eat fast food myself. That stuff is just a heart attack waiting to occur.
