FOREVER POKING...

When I was a child I was taught the saying, "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me." At the time, I saw the sense of it. Words, being intangible, have no ability to inflict physical harm. Whenever another child said something mean to me, I would loudly recite the saying at them, using it like a magical incantation that would protect me from getting my feelings hurt. I usually said it with tears running down my cheeks.
As an adult I've come to see that the saying is, like many things taught to children, a lie. The truth is that bones heal, while the damage done by words can last a lifetime. I bring it up here only to remind those who go behind the backs of bloggers and report various violations WITHOUT making contact with the blogger they have issues with. Please be mindful of the ‘power’ you wield. And that is the power to wound with words {claims}. You may have the ‘power’ to shut blogs down, but DEEP down we all know that you will forever be poking, but never really penetrating.
But I should tread carefully here. I don't want to now become the very thing I decry. So I want to reiterate that if anyone sees an image here and would like to get their deserved recognition please do NOT hesitate in letting me know how you’d like to be given acknowledgment, THANK YOU J

¿QUIT BLOGGING?

I see @ least 3-4 blogs say goodbye a week and I, think about
quitting myself. You know delete all of my entries in the pipe line and go home. In my imagination, the day after I quit is a wonderful, relaxing, joyful experience. I reconnect with REAL friends, walk on the beach, read, listen to music, eat leisurely meals with the Dalai Lama, meditate, maybe go see a matinee, or take a stab at writing a few blog entries shows my peace of mind.

The day after that, bored out of my mind, I start drinking around the clock and quickly descend into a dark, frothing madness that leads to either being institutionalized or liver failure and an agonizing, premature death. The really scary part is that there's hardly a day goes by when I imagine not blogging.

PROJECTION...

The psychological phenomenon known as projection, Sigmund Freud explained it as the mental mechanism by which a person attributes to others the very qualities he or she despises, and cannot confront, in themselves. I've also been learning about passive-aggressive behavior. This is language and actions that are abusive but cleverly hidden behind a thin veil of civility. For example, the first two sentences of this blog entry.

WHY I BLOG...

I am constantly asked why I don't use my blog to make money. It
seemed like a simple enough question, but the truth is, I was stumped. Why do I blog? Not for money certainly, although I continue to hold out hope that one day I will. Is it a creative exercise from which I derive great pleasure? Not really. I've always felt that the act of blogging isn't nearly as enjoyable as the feeling that comes from "having blogged." So why do I do it?

Well, after careful consideration I've come to believe that had I been even a moderately enlighten human being in my formative years; I would feel little compulsion to communicate now. This leads me to wonder, would it have been appropriate to have said that I write these blog entries because I was incapable of expressing myself as a youngster, a situation which caused me unbearable anguish and is only now beginning to dissipate? Maybe...Why do you blog?

TO THE BLOG GODS...

Dear Blog Gods,

If it be thy will, give unto me a blog entry that has lots of soul potential while simultaneously exploring and defining our humanity. If, in thine infinite wisdom, the entry you provideth is over-the-top, please help me convince myself that I am creating an entry SO touching that my readers can go out and save the world one person @ a time.

Many thanks,

TGK

¿HOW DO YOU AMUSE YOURSELF & OTHERS WITH YOUR BLOG?

Sometimes I amuse myself by coming up with a weird title and then, working backwards, try to write a little entry that fits it. The following examples showcase my weirdness:

BLOGGING PERIPHERAL VISION

After blogging for few years, I have developed a survival mechanism I like to call "blogging peripheral vision." What this means is that I can set my attention on the work at hand and still be able to see what's going on around me. The huddled confabs, the whispered asides, the sideways glances, the roll of the eyes, the smirks of disdain, the sulking pouts, the exhalations of disgust, the looks of admiration (few and far between), and the endless variations of body language that reveal impatience, rejection, jealousy, and simple disbelief that I'm in charge and you're not. I see it all. And I don't comment. I just make note of it. Occasionally I will respond in a roundabout fashion that might make you think I'm clairvoyant. I am not. I am simply watching. Just thought you might like to know.

Carry on.

THE LIGHT-SIDE OF THE DARK...

To whom it may concern,

The dark side of thegaytekeeper has taken hostage. Do not try to find him. Do not alert the authorities. Until demands are met he will be held on the tropical island of New Providence (Nassau, Bahamas) where he'll be forced to sit on the beach and meditate.

If you hope to get the 'dark side' of thegaytekeeper back, the following is a list of our demand: All the inhumane that live like they're better than the humane MUST donate their soul to humanity. You have from now until the end of time to comply with our demand.

Sincerely,

The 'light-side' of thegaytekeeper

¿DOES THE 'HOT' PIC GET YOU TO CLICK?

Does my use of sexy images that illustrate my entries get you to click?  In our hot abs, nice and big dick obsession, am I a bad blogger for perpetuating this stereotype? Selling sex is a fact of life and we all have to deal with it, but when you look at the social norms of the gay community juxtaposed against those of mainstream society, it makes me wonder if the gay community is superficial, fawning over the guy with a six-pack?

[A BLOG/BLOGGER IS ONE]

[A BLOG/BLOGGER IS ONE] whose heart is informed about the things which would be otherwise ignored,

The one who is clear-sighted when he is deep into a problem,

The one who is moderate in his actions.

Who penetrates others with his writings,

Whose advice is unknowingly [sought] to unravel complications,

Who instructs his own heart,

Who stays awake at night as he looks for the right paths,

Who surpasses what he accomplished yesterday,

Who brought himself to wisdom,

Who asks for advice and whose advice is sought.

I’ve often been asked how is it that I can write about something real and profound one minute, and then slap my readers with something so sexual the next. To which I reply: Part of blogging is the expression of MY individual identity that bounds me to articulate my unique persona. I know this might sound like a load of shit (I shock myself sometimes), but I can’t help but give you what life unabashedly compels me to say/write! I’ve learned that as I embark upon the journey, I MUST take with me all the elements that surround me.

But believe it or not, I approach blogging with an open heart and a greater consciousness than myself. When I blog, I remove myself from the confines of reality to immerse myself in the intrigue of the familiar and unfamiliar…in real and the fake…in the erotic and the sensual…Every entry has the potential to touch the human soul deeply, arousing patterns of thought that might otherwise lay dormant. The release that can be derived from a blog is so UNIQUE that we MUST not dismiss the fact that what isn’t for you, CERTAINLY is useful for another.

I LOVE blogging because it requires an investment of emotion, the concentration and the imagination of myself and those who come visit. The words written here are merely a starting point for a process that takes place largely within the minds and hearts of each of us. With my blog, I try to show how our lives fluctuate when viewed from moment to moment. When analyzed over the long term, the unexpected ceases to be a source of stress and you can appreciate life NOT only for the things that are for you, but for the ones that are NOT! I get that blogging @ times can act like a sponge, absorbing the radiant of all who pass through it. However it is my EVERY intention to invigorate and NOT drain you.

My goal is to unveil your soul, no matter what the configuration, I see blogging as something that represents the circular path of our being. It illustrates the journey of all encompassing cycles of life, death, and that which lies beyond. So rather than trying to ignore feelings of shame I simply give meaning to the things about life that I feel are beautiful…I am all about reaching a HIGH level of vibration! Thoughts, emotions, intentions, choices, and actions contribute to the vibrational state of blogging; and it is in this space that each of us has been blessed with an innate need to celebrate and glorify ALL aspects life.

I know MANY would say, that my blog sends mixed messages @ times (and I am sure it does), however, I’ve come to understand that there is NO right OR wrong way to blog! It is all about connecting to our center AND accessing THE fullness of who we are as individual spirits. I am connected to the energy source of the universe, from which nothing can be lacking. SO many of us allow others to direct our paths NEVER realizing that expressing your TRUE self will help you discover who you truly are. Only I can create the blog that will make me happy, and only I can do what’s necessary to make this blog a reality.
