Okay, I don't know about you but I'm impressed. Six years of blog
C'mon, that's really something. As a personal feeling towards numbers, I LOVE 5! But I can now look back with pride on having had the discipline to communicate something of value for 6 years.


Now I know some of you are thinking the phrase "something of

value" might be overstated. Well, may I remind you, I've always had the option to create blog entries which had value only to me. Instead, I chose to wrestle words into some sort of meaningful form...for six years. Have I been successful? That will have to be determined by people who haven't written a blog entry (ok those that still blog can jump in as well).

I've got to share this blog with you for 6 years now. Every time I 
write an entry, I'm quietly astonished that I get away with putting these things on the net daily. I mean think about it, at the end of each entry, I get to communicate whatever's on my mind directly to you. This is a remarkable thing, folks. Messages from a non-writer using one of the most powerful medium the world has ever known.

Six years of blogging means I've received a lot of time to THINK
OUT LOUD! Six years, I wonder if in years to come, if people will talk in hushed tones about the fabled blog called thegaytekeeper. Its very existence will be debated. Did TGK write for that long? Could it be that 6 holds the vital clue to the puzzle, the enigma, that is/was TGK (graduate thesis, anyone?)

One thing's for sure, if you're reading this, you know the answer -- but don't let that discourage you from talking about this blog in hushed tones.

According to Google’s Analytic report, we’ve covered a milestone in terms of traffics; something I anticipated to happen sometime next week…we’ve crossed the 1,000,000 page views mark. I’d like to thank you guys, particularly the regular readers, feed readers because you guys helped make this possible.

For 2,000 entries I sought to open the mind and heart for myself and others. I know that some things can seem repetitive but my message of you can be ANYTHING you want to be still stands. As I blog here daily, with LOVE as my mentor, I knew I could keep this going. So as we celebrate this milestone and look forward to the other 1,000^th I say:

Walk side by side with love.
Sit down by the fire, feel and see love.
Make love your partner throughout life’s many challenges until you and love depart at death.
Always lie side by side with love.
Accept whomever you are.
Accept the world as it is given to you.
Accept a ‘rebirth’ by being here in the moment.
Let go of what’s not working as you know it can, and be the ‘new man or woman’.
Blow out all the cob webs that obstruct your journey to the new and real you.
Be friendly with your heart, and get to know what opening it can do to your life.
‘Supersize’ your love and compassion!

LOOK WHO IS A BIG BLOG NOW! Today marks our 5th Anniversary and I’ve used this space as a canvas on which I paint the chaos that is man and the conquering power of inhumanity. Though I one time too many take the easy and lazy way in keeping this blog going, I am grateful that you’ve remained with me.

 

For half a decade we’ve kept those important conversations going...those conversations for the voiceless and the marginalized…those conversations that make me, you…US brave enough to exist in a world where we are told we shouldn’t be. And though some entries make you cringe in horror and disbelief, PLEASE note that we are merely pointing out what exists in this world of ours. Kindly forgive us for topics not covered, we CANNOT get caught up in the perceived hypocrisy and 'waves' of outrage which flow around the media and the 'blogosphere.'

As in previous years, we’d like to thank the gentle readers who visit us from time to time and those who comment on what is written/posted; feedback is always useful and we are grateful for it. SO LET’S ROLL ONTO THE NEXT FIVE YEARS AS WE KEEP THIS BLOG CHUGGING ALONG!

So today is marks the FOURTH year that this blog has been going and I would like to thank you for taking the time to appreciate the things that are born in this crazy head of mine. KIN'SHAR N' ME...

AHHHH, THE MAGIC OF THE INTERNET…I made plans to meet Sharon aka kinshar on my trip to Philly. Since this was my last day there I wanted to @ least get out of the hotel and have some fun; my interview was done the day I arrived and we were going to spend the entire day together…SO MUCH FOR THAT THEORY! Miss Sharon was 5 hours late, I was hungry as hell and I thought we weren’t going to meet anymore. But as luck would have it, not even the bad weather and her feeling sick could keep her away…guess I am THAT special (and not yellow bus special either). I am talking about one in 6 billion special (that’s how many persons in the world right?) Nonetheless, when she got there she was just like I imagined she’d be…WARM, CRAZY N’ REAL…THANK GOD BECAUSE THAT MEANT I HAD COMPANY…Moreover, she brought extras with her, this lady has a personality that can’t be matched anywhere AND she made Noel and I both feel welcome…SO HERE ARE A FEW PIX OF OUR TIME TOGETHER…

Here @ thegayte-keeper we normally make it a policy not to pat ourselves on the back for what we do here because we don’t do this for ourselves. But every once in a while something comes along and inspires us to achieve NEW possibilities and we would be remiss if we didn’t HIGHLIGHT OUR 1000th BLOG ENTRY! For what seems like just yesterday, we shared the magic AND wisdom through the written word. We sought to be that sensual, warm, cozy cottage NO matter how crazed with greed the world appeared to be. We KNEW that SO few of us are the link from this world to the next. And the ONLY persons that have access to the gate are the gatekeepers. So with the vibration of my soul being different, I took my task here VERY seriously. It is NO secret that I am living in a world dealing with a culture that doesn't care about what I really stand for. The life of a man such as me is SO susceptible to the PRESSURE from a society that rejects me. I have been given the task of GUARDING the gate AND imparting knowledge to those that know it but can’t live it for some reason. Thus blogging is MY instrument, MY canvas; this entity is MY brush, the photos are MY melody and the words are MY paintings. This is NOT just about words; this is my art…this is what I wanted to be AND ever will be. For the longest time, I thought I was put on this earth to become a doctor and heal people. Now I get to do that EVERY single day with this blog. This blog is built on a foundation of TRUTH mixed with a RAW passion for humanity. Thus the creative AND abstract view of the world with that I have can be described as REAL WITH A TWIST. Every single day I am seek new ways to encourage AND help humanity to come to a DEEPER understanding of themselves, especially the GAY MAN. I use life's subtleties to capture what is around us everyday as I am INSPIRED by the people AND the things that I encounter. Hence what I do here is about YOU, for YOU and by YOU. For YOU are my craft and I understand WE are all put here for a reason AND this is my purpose. So as I mark this occasion I would like to simply thank those who have allowed me to SERVE AND BLESS them with my THIRD eye.

As I sit and reflect on the things that has touched me for past two years, the first thing that comes to mind is GRATEFULNESS! I am grateful because I have been given the opportunity to articulate who I am and this blog has empowered my life AND showed me that I have a purpose, something GREATER than me. When I posted my first entry I was DETERMINED, DETERMINED to take US to the next level. I like so MANY of us spent so much time feeling stuck with thoughts AND feels that weren’t being expressed. I spent a lot of time saying YES when I wanted to SCREAM out NO! It was like I could move mountains with my passion but could never express it with my own song. THAT WAS THEN & THIS IS NOW! I can sit write this entry in CELEBRATION because of who AND what WE are as people…I can sit N’ write this entry because of passion N’ understanding for ALL life…I can sit N’ write this entry because of what God makes possible for me…IT IS BECAUSE HE I CAN…

So I encourage you to be devoted to one another in LOVE and HONOR each other ABOVE ourselves. Let’s not let us forget OUR SPIRIT-NATURE and I hope that you remember this notion as you navigate here. WATCH ME as I walk a mile in your shoes AND empathize with you and feel your pain. For you and I are apart of the PERFECTION that was created by GOD. WE inherited the DNA of God and HE put up a curtain, created IMPERFECTION so that we could create perfection again. AND I seek to be that curtain so YOU can attain this goal. I AM OF THE OPINION THAT OUR IMPERFECT WAS CREATED SO WOULD CREATE PERFECTION, INSTEAD OF HAVING IT GIVEN TO US. Think of it as a puzzle with the pieces separated so we could put it back together. I AM ALL FOR BRIDGING THE CHAOS IN OUR LIVES, THE DISTANCE WE FEEL WITH EACH OTHER & OURSELVES. ALWAYS REMEMBER…Happiness given to us doesn't feel like happiness. Happiness that we create…that feels like happiness! SO LET US CREATE OUR CERTAINTY & LOVE FOR OURSELVES? WHEN YOU GET LOST, REMEMBER THAT THIS LIGHT IS HERE TO SHOW YOU THE WAY…

…A YEAR AND COUNTING! I’ve been @ this for a year now; sharing my thoughts and feelings on LIFE AND ALL THE THINGS IN BETWEEN. I wrote from my heart about all the difficult position of my life.
