I'm a control freak and I dont like surprises, so I'm not a great fan of the unknown. I dont fear the unknown but I would rather attempt to write my own ending than leave it up to chance. Having spent my entire childhood as a victim/captive, it's very difficult for me as an adult, to let go and allow anybody other than me or even Fate, to make decisions that affect my life.
