Breaking
up with an ex is never easy. If you were in love and things later soured, the
split could have easily left you feeling scarred and angry. But once your pain
dissipates and you’ve had a little time to reflect, sometimes you can be
thankful that your ex left you with a few lessons that will help you in the
future.
Thinking
back on my past relationships, I can honestly say that I learned quite a bit.
Not only did I learn the power of being totally vulnerable with your partner,
but I also learned to speak my mind, set boundaries, and not settle for subpar
treatment.
Even
when relationships don’t work out, we can walk away with lessons that will last
a lifetime. What were yours?
Did you learn a lesson from your last relationship?
I learned that:
ReplyDeleteThe insane can sometimes throw their voices from pretty faces.
That the next time someone says I love you!'... get it in writing (or at least on tape)!
That even the good ones can be seriously damaged.
That buses are not meant to throw lovers under.
That I am WORTHY of respect, if not complete understanding.
That being an artist is like having a mistress, & most partners don't like sharing you.
That insecurity is a curse I can live well without.
And the very BEST Lesson: That I can do some things much better alone.
One.
MOAN: DO YOU ANY OF MY EXES?
ReplyDeleteThe best lessons that I learned were that a) it is better to give than to receive and b) forgiveness is better than hate.
ReplyDeleteROGER: DO YOU TALK TO ANY OF YOUR EXES?
ReplyDeleteDon't change, but do compromise.
ReplyDeleteCUP: GOOD LESSON!
ReplyDeleteI learned that actions speak louder than words. Let's say they claim they want space, but when you all break up, He still calls. Hmmm
ReplyDeleteYes, a couple of my ex's I remain in contact. After all, there is a history there. Vers Freedom: booty call?
ReplyDeleteVERS: CLASSIC BEHAVIOR!
ReplyDeleteROGER: YOU SEEM LIKE THE TYPE THAT WOULD STILL BE IN CONTACT WITH HIS EX(ES)...
ReplyDeleteIKR ABOUT VERS BOOTY CALL!
First thing I learned is that you changed ur blog name for the holidays (sighs) i got scared for a minute that you weren't around anymore, couldn't find you...
ReplyDeleteTo digress, I learned to avoid relationships all around to never face having an ex situation, not sure how long that will last cause being lonely is no fun.
DEAN: OH, SORRY I DIDN'T MEAN TO SCARE YOU LIKE THAT, THOUGHT A CHANGE WOULD BE GOOD, NEXT TIME I WILL RETHINK THAT IDEA.
ReplyDeleteWHEN SOMEONE GRABS YOUR ENTIRE BEING, YOU WILL AVOID HAVING RELATIONSHIPS.
I do know he wants the booty, but he has to earn this booty @Roger and thegayte keeper
ReplyDeleteVERS: WELL I DON'T THINK HE WILL EARN IT. MOST DON'T KNOW WHAT IT TAKES TO TRULY EARN BOOTY!
ReplyDeleteVers and the gayte-keeper: I give you a big AMEN on that!
ReplyDeleteROGER: WE ALL KNOW THE 'GAME' ALL TOO WELL!
