Makes you wonder...if you're identical twins, you have the same genetic/DNA make-up...thus, both would be GAY- if you're indeed born that way... Otherwise, one CHOSE to be gay or the other CHOSE to be STRAIGHT.
Genetics are only part of the issue. It also depends on what chemicals the fetus was exposed to in the womb, and twins do not get exposed to the same chemicals (there are minor but often important differences). Also infants are exposed to widely different chemical and mental stimuli, which can deeply affect their development.
I have a friend who is 100 percent gay. His twin brother is almost 100 percent straight. He and his twin experimented with one another sexually while growing up (not uncommon for siblings who are close in age) and his twin had a handful of sexual encounters with the same man in high school (also not unusual). They are 100 percent identical twins, but not, either.
My twin brother and I are both gay. One set of twin cousins are mixed, one is lesbian and the other not. All of us are identical.
The instance of identical twins born with differing sexual orientations is higher than those born with matching orientations. My twin brother and I participated in a study about ten years ago about identical gay twins. We were both surprised as to how few we were. It was also disturbing to learn of the absurd myths surrounding identical gay twins.
Even identical twins have some physical differences. Usually, they are only noticed upon close examination. Often, they are unobserved when regarded by strangers.
Based on the writing on the posters, I'm gonna guess that the one on the left is gay, but I'm more drawn to the one on the right because of his smile. If I'm right do I get a prize? How about if you just send them both to my house? I'll take it from there!

ReplyDeleteJust something I'd never thought about before.

ReplyDeleteHmm...hard to say. I'd guess the twin on the right side though. There's just something about him.
