ACCORDING TO AN ARTICLE ON THEBODY.COM, GAY MEN SEEM TO THINK THAT "MASCULINE" MEN ARE LESS LIKELY TO HAVE HIV/AIDS. ¿DO YOU BELIEVE THAT "MASCULINE" MEN ARE LESS LIKELY TO HAVE HIV/AIDS?
This myth is ridiculous, unfortunately, many men operate under this blanket of misinformation. HIV is the virus that causes AIDS. Viruses have no way to determine whether one partner is "masculine" and the other "less masculine." Any man having unprotected sex with another is equally at risk for infection with HIV or other STIs.
One reason this myth persists is the notion that masculine men are all tops and therefore less likely to be infected. I've been with many masculine men who've been insatiable bottoms in bed. Masculinity has nothing to do with sexual position.
Another reason for this stereotype is that masculine men appear healthy and as a result, aren't infected with HIV or sick. Remember, a man can look and feel healthy for many years after contracting HIV. Regardless of how someone looks, they can infect others without knowing their status.
Be safe. Play safe. Protect yourself and your partners.
Lol...this is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard in my life!
ReplyDeleteYeah, and babies come from Paris...
