"Who am I?" When we pose this question upon ourselves, we are looking beyond the obvious, beyond our names and the names of the countries we are from, into the layers beneath our surface identities. And while there are many of us that come into the world knowing who we are and why they are here, most gay men don’t fall into that category. I was watching THE BROKEN HEARTS CLUB this weekend, and there was a line that hit me and it reads as follows: IF YOU WEREN’T GAY, WHAT WOULD YOUR IDENTITY BE?
Probably the same with another sexuality. Would I be so different if I didn't like strawberries ? Those who I love define me more that my sexuality.

Great thundering balls of god! I would be completely different but not because being gay is all that defines me.
ReplyDeleteI believe its a part of a greater whole that makes up my complex personality and while it is not a huge part of that whole it is an integral part.
I also don't understand why so many gay men try and diminish their sexuality or sexual desires or sexual acts.
Why are these things so unimportant?
Why do we marginalize them?
Is it fear?
Are the gay men doing this afraid to completely embrace the cock sucking ass licking anal humping glory that is gay sex?
I don't think a person can be more than any other part or aspect of their personal composition.
I think every part is essential and key in determining and discerning the whole.

Probably a very different person, in my case. Not because I was not gay, but because the experiences and influences I have had as a gay man have shaped much of who I. If you changed my experiences and influences you are bound to change much the man I become.
