STINGS…¿MORE OR LESS?

As long as society is anti-gay, then it will seem like being gay is anti-social. – Joseph Francis

So my question to you is does homophobic remarks, comments, feelings and thoughts hurt the more OR less when it comes from a…

MAN…

¿OR?

…WOMAN

  1. It hurts equally when a man or a woman uses hateful epithets, and that's why the use of such hateful epithets must not be used by LGBT people themselves.

To use such words as "queer," "fag," "dyke," etc., is both indicative of using the oppressor's labels as self-identifiers; falsely believing that one is "reclaiming" words that one never owned in the first place; using the very same words that the person who assaults and even murders a Gay person uses when committing that deed; mystifies the experience of feeling that such hateful words are somehow "empowering" or even descriptive of LGBT people. Dignity demands that such words never be used by LGBT people; demand that those words never be used by anyone else either!

  2. It hurts even more because the advances that should be taken place are not because of the fear expressed.

  3. Subjectively, a man, cause he thinks I'm less of a man than he is. But socially, both are just as serious and ridiculous.

  4. Mostly when scolded by another man, although some women tend to throw daggers as well. No matter whom it is from it still hurts, but hurts even more when it is from one of your own.
