MEN DO CERTAIN THINGS (E.G. HIT ON WOMEN TO SHOW MASCULINITY) & AS AS A GAY MAN, WHAT DO YOU DO TO FEEL LIKE YOU ARE ‘ONE
OF THE GUYS?’
I've never really thought about it. I let them be them and me be me. If that is their way of proving they are one of the guys, I doubt I would hang out with them anyway.

DeleteI do me, regardless of the sexuality of whomever I am with. If it's a group of heterosexual men, and yes, I have been around them, they comment on women, I comment on an attractive man nearby. Trust, they shut the fu*k up real fast and change the subject. Whether or not they're with me again is their choice, not mine. Why? If they have a problem with me, it's their problem, not mine. One anecdote: we have a men's recreation league basketball team at my job. I play with them and am the only Deaf gay man on the team. They may not like my sexual orientation but they appreciate my court skills.
ReplyDeleteI'm willing to be friendly and respectful to most. The only qualifier is that they reciprocate. I don't like discrimination in any form, including sexuality.
