¿DOES PORN REALLY DO IT FOR YOU?

Take your typical female who moans N’ groans while pleasuring her co-star as he make her gag till her makeup starts running, as young man (sans the homosexuality) this excited me to NO end; but as fully grown gay man, I find that I have to search deep and long (pun intended) for a good porn worth watching. I find that while sex should be all about what gives the people who are engaging in it pleasure, porn is the TOTAL opposite of that.

Why is it when people have sex on camera for money they’re doing a job, and what they do isn’t designed to turn them on, it’s designed to turn on the viewer  and to make the director and editors jobs easier? Porn isn’t a document of two (or more) people having pleasurable sex, its one person’s idea of what will titillate us. Don’t believe me? I dare you to deny how PERFECT their bodies look naked…and moving.

HERE ARE FEW INTERESTING THINGS I FOUND ON THE NET ABOUT THE PORN WE WATCH:

Most porn is made in a vacuum: Real life sexual experiences happen in a social context. Whether it’s your first or thirty-first time, every time you have sex you bring your past experiences and your values to bed with you. Porn has none of this. The vast majority of mainstream pornography is made by a small, insulated, and surprisingly sexually unsophisticated group of people in southern California. Sexual behavior can be an incredibly complicated form of human communication and interaction. Pornography isn’t.

Just like in Hollywood, those bodies aren’t exactly real: You should never compare your body to what you see in porn. For starters, porn actors are chosen in part for their physical attributes. The average penis size among male porn stars is not representative of anything in the general population. As well, because many female actors still make the majority of their money by stripping, plastic surgery remains ubiquitous in the adult entertainment industry.

Sex positions for the camera: The sexual positions you see in porn are chosen for a few reasons including visual variety and what will allow the camera greatest access to all the hidden parts. Sex positions in porn don’t represent what’s most popular in the bedrooms of America, or even what is innovative in terms of offering more sexual stimulation. In fact some sexual positions you see in porn are clearly uncomfortable for one or both of the performers.

Porn is meant to shock and excite: The kinds of sexual behaviors you see in porn are not based on any idea of what people actually do in their bedrooms; they are based on what will excite and often shock the porn viewer. They are also based on the pornographer’s need to “prove” to the viewer that actual sex is taking place. Thus external ejaculation is a required element of visual pornography, even though this is not necessarily a common part of the sexual repertoire.

Porn editors have their work cut out for them: Most porn scenes are not shot continuously from the first ring of the doorbell (enter the pizza delivery boy) to the last silly line “Next time I’ll remember to order extra sausage!”. There are constant breaks and interruptions during the shooting of a single scene, and they may even shoot some elements out of order. The end result is that what you see, the order you see it in, and how long it all takes, is often determined by the editing and not the actual sex that took place.

  3. Great post gayte-keeper.

I find as I get older porn turns me on less, especially gay porn. It can be so sterile and mechanical and the selection limited.

I prefer watching black men have sex but what is out there to watch?

The genre is dominated by "thug" porn -- young, tough looking black men banging each other out. Whenever I watch it I think: Most porn producers are white males and this is what they think is the total range of black gay male sexuality?

And since this is a capitalist society filmmakers are producing this type of porn to meet demand. So obviously many gay men must get off on this thug personna.

The other popular black gay genre are scenes where a big-dicked black man or group of black men bangs out some twinky white male or even some old white dudes. This porn can be hot but still disturbs me on some level. Black men are portrayed as walking erect penises whose only purpose is to serve white men, no matter how physically unattractive they are.

I watch this porn and think, "this is some serious fantasy -- a black male that looks like that wouldn't be caught dead fucking some 220-pound, elderly white dude unless the guy was paying him to do it."

I am really looking forward to the day there is more variety in the depiction of black gay male sexuality. We are so much more than thugs or "bulls" whose only purpose is ravaging white men.

  4. You know how to put a damper on a lot of things, my blog friend. Is nothing sacred to you? Now porn?

Unlike Immanuel above me, the older I get, the more I watch porn. I used to not watch porn much at all. I mean every blue moon, but hardly. I was afraid it would desensitize me towards sex. I would mostly use my imagination or my own fantasy to get me off, if I needed some one hand love. I would read a lot of erotica, also. However in the last 6 months I have come to the conclusion, I am watching a lot more porn. The older I get me more I'm watching. A lot! I'm a young Kirk Franklin.

Porn is about visual Sexual stimulation. Your realities aren't detracting anything. At the end of the day its a movie. A movie with a poor plot and bad acting, but so is some of Tyler Perry's movies.

Most real movies aren't shot in sequence order, does your porn have to also, as long as at the end, it all makes sense. Yes, the cum shot is required, and not to just prove they had sex, but add sexual climax. I have seen much porn without a cum shot, and I feel jipped. I love lots of semen.

It explore peoples deep dark fantasies. It's not reality. Is Star Wars real?...No! Is X-Men real?...No! but people love them. Its fantasy and not reality. Do people come down on them, because they aren't an example of reality?

Weirdly enough my favorite porn star is a middle aged white guy, with a mediocre dick and his latino partner.

Ironically, I read about this post, while watching porn clips on Pimusique's blog.

  5. I love Gay porn and just like anything else, we can choose what we want to watch. Romantic guy that I am, I like a story line of sorts, pretty surroundings and two hot guys making love rather than fucking or abusing one another.

Porn really turns me on and I feel no remorse or insecurity because I dont (and have never) looked like these guys or have the ability to do what they do. Though my partner worries some, I dont fantasize about them while making love with my man. My focus and lust are strictly on him and some good porn and good music going in the background simply heighten the amazing connection we already have.

  6. Porn is produced solely for its entertainment value and relies primarily on the visual, as you mentioned in your post. Personally, I've generally watched it only when I'm bored and no one else is around....well, that's not entirely true now that I think about it. There have been those moments when my partner(s) and I have used porn as a backgound to enhance our experiences. Actually, maybe I need to totally rethink the entire subject. I'm recalling times now that I'd almost completely forgotten! LOL! Cool entry, buddy!

  7. Of course porn movies are not different from any other kind of movies. They are (sometimes) based on something that triggers us and on that basis a movie is made.
But what is wrong about that if it is so appreciated by so many? Because that is the reason general porn looks like it does.
Of course there is a lot of amateur porn available (true amateur porn and fake amateur porn) with less sculptured bodies and less (or more) big dicks.
Loving most kinds of porn, I know there is something available for all of us somewhere on the market or the net.
Have a nice watch and jerk!

  8. I was hooked to porn at an early age due to the influence of a porn aficionado. Since then, I haven't been able to fully kick the habit of watching, even though the majority of the time, I'm looking for more porn to watch (well, collect, but never watch again).

The type of vids mentioned really don't do much for me, it just depends on my mood. I'm more a fan of solo vids. I'm not sure what production goes into a solo vid, but when you have amateur sites like xtube, it doesn't matter much.

I do know that watching too much porn can be depressing (maybe the unrealistic body types and the Olympian sex acts taking place). I don't know, but you pointed it all out, and I'm glad I'm not the only who feels that way. Now, I just need to kick my addiction to collecting porn that I may never ever watch lol.

  9. I agree it is very hard to find a porno that really turns me on being that I know the actors are just that actors and they are being paid to entertain us, but from time to time in the STR8 videos they really lose control and forget that they are working and let their performance show their true feelings for the person they are getting down with in the video. I enjoy when two STR8 men bang one woman, but tend to slip and focus on each others performance and manhood. I miss FM Bradley in the industry he always gives a great performance.

  10. First off: awesome post.

I like to consider myself a connoisseur of gay porn. I can sit up and discuss directors, actors, studios, etc. I especially agree with my boy Immanuel. The majority of porn scenes are HELLA unrealistic. I also think people ought to be aware of the hard work (no pun intended) that goes into a single scene shoot. I've heard some scenes taking all day to shoot in some cases.

I feel the same way as everyone else about the disillusionment with
"thug porn". I HATE it when there's no passion. No kissing. Afraid to rim. Just two or more men fucking like rabbits? Really?

But what about when websites categorize every ethnicity OTHER than White under the Black categories?
