ALMOST DOESN'T COUNT

"Almost Doesn't Count" is an Grammy-award nominated R&B ballad written by Shelly Peikenand Guy Roche for Brandy's second studio album Never Say Never (1998). It also was produced by Roche and released as the album's fourth single during the second quarter of 1999 (see 1999 in music). The ballad reached the top 20 in New Zealand, the UK, and on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 on June 8, 1999 (after reaching the Top 40 on April 27). Brandy performed the song in the 1999 film Double Platinum, starring Diana Ross and herself.
I chose this song this week because I feel that when we choose to bask in the light of love, people aren't always what they seem. Where I don't believe that loving anyone is ever wrong, I do believe that our knowing when it is time to let him/her is MORE important! It ALMOST seem as if there is a DEEP seated part of ourselves that doesn't want to heal.
Nonetheless, is ALMOST EVERY situation, we know what is best for us, yet so many of us hang onto that someone who leaves us feeling drained. It is my HOPE that when you feel this way, you realize that you are sabotaging yourself, which makes it VERY difficult to see that ALMOST DOESN'T COUNT.
