COUPLES FIGHT: ¿HOW DO YOU CHOOSE SIDES?

Couples fight — it’s just a fact of life and it is hard to sit there and just nod when a man you’ve known for a long time struggle with his relationship with another man who you genuinely care about.
What do you do when they are both explaining all of the things the other is doing wrong and you completely identify with the issues?
How do you maintain your sanity when there’s a rift between a couple you care about?

  1. I refuse to offer an opinion. It only makes you the asshole when they make up. And, yes, I even tell them that. Been there once, lost a really good friend just by listening and trying to be supportive. When it was all said and done they decided I was trying to break them up. So now this boy keeps his mouth shut.

    1. I HATE when they make you the 'fall' guy as if! In situations like this I tend to not take sides and give both equal support.

  2. my str8 next door neighbors are fighting like cats and dogs. He says, she says; they make up and then she throws him out again.. last saturday nite there were 4 cop cars here and I was worried that there was a suicide/homicide b/c neither would come to the door (Okay, I peeked out the window).

I listen politely, say 'I'm so sorry' when each pauses for a response or I hold my ears and say 'TOO MUCH INFORMATION' otherwise keep my mouth SHUT

I AM sorry cuz they invite us for Thanksgiving and Xmas amd we enjoy going there.

    1. You not only have them in your life, but they live next door? YIKES! NOT COOL!

  3. If they're both friends, then you explain that you're unable and unwilling to take one side over the other. Be firm in this. As they're friends, they should respect this.
