SPARTACUS: VENGEANCE R U GONNA WATCH IT?

Spartacus: Vengeance is a Starz television series advertised as the second season and sequel to Spartacus: Blood and Sand. The story follows Spartacus (played by Liam McIntyre, who replaces the late Andy Whitfield), after he and his fellow gladiators kill their master Batiatus and escape from his gladiatorial training school or ludus. Cast members and characters who return from the first season include Lucy Lawless as Lucretia, Peter Mensah as OenomausManu Bennett as CrixusNick Tarabay as Ashur, Viva Bianca as Ilithyia, and Craig Parker as Gaius Claudius GlaberDustin Clare will also reprise his role as Gannicus from Spartacus: Gods of the Arena, the prequel to Spartacus: Blood and Sand.

After the bloody escape from the House of Batiatus that concluded Spartacus: Blood and Sand, the gladiator rebellion begins to strike fear into the heart of the Roman Republic in Spartacus: Vengeance. Legatus Claudius Glaber and his Roman troops are sent to Capua to crush Spartacus' growing band of freed slaves before they can inflict further damage. Spartacus is given a choice between satisfying his personal need for vengeance against the man who condemned his wife to slavery and eventual death, or making the larger sacrifices necessary to keep his budding army from breaking apart. Advance word suggests that this sequel will continue the blood-soaked action, exotic sexuality, villainy, and heroism that characterized Spartacus: Blood and Sand.

  1. I watched it. Meh. It was okay. I admit Batiatus was my favorite character, so I knew that along with the new Sparticus they would really need to wow me. They didn't. But I will probably watch once or twice more before completely giving up.

  2. Well Lucretia seems to have remembered now, so her using her "shock" may be wonderfully evil:D
