MENTACIDAL MISINTERPRETATIONS...

Like abused children convince themselves that they are part of the problem that cause them to be abused rather than the insane mind of the fool who abused them we have that same sick relationship with those who discriminate and kill us. We think straight people abuse us because we are gay rather than because of their twisted mind. So we think that our gayness is our problem and, consequently, we consciously or unconsciously hate it.

  1. Unfortunately, in many cases, your observation, my friend, is so true. Hence the recent rash of teen suicides related to being gay. In this instance, the homophobes have the proverbial "upper hand." Their hatred and fear guides their killing swords and brainwashing.

Our community is finally responding and at last the media and the public are reacting. This message of hope for a better future is beginning to address and counter all the negativity surrounding being gay that bigots promote.

Personally, my twin brother and I were fortunate in having an older brother who is also gay. He paved the way for us within our family and gave us a positive role model. We were also blessed in having an extended family that at the very minimum publicly supported us and never stoppped loving us and our partners.

  3. This should be a gay mantra so that we remember to make the distinction. It's awful how easily we are conditioned to believe what others say about us, rather than believe in our own beauty.

  4. I like the word boner... and it illustrates my personal mantra. Simplistic, trite; call it what you like, but it works for me...

WHEN LIFE THROWS YOU LEMONS, MAKE LEMONADE.

I can piss and moan about what I dont have, I can let myself be affected by what other people think or say, or I can devote my energy to making the best of what I do have and accept the fact that I AM DIFFERENT.

I work hard at accepting the fact that I am different, and in doing this, the lemonade tastes very sweet.

  5. THOMAS: I SAW SOMETHING THE OTHER DAY ON TV, WHERE THIS MAN WAS QUESTIONING WHY HE WAS GAY & FEELING BAD ABOUT IT. SO HIS PASTOR TOLD WHEN HE FEELS THAT WAY, HE SHOULD ASK HIMSELF WHO TOLD YOU THAT? & THEN ASK: DOES THIS PERSON WANT THE BEST FOR ME?
