BROTHERHOOD TV: THIS IS MORE THAN A SHOW...

Brotherhood TV is a show geared at engaging young Black and Latino Gay and bisexual men in an honest, forward and blunt conversation on sex, race, HIV/AIDS and masculinity among other things.  Brotherhood TV is hosted by 6 uniquely different young Black and Latino Gay and Bisexual men from the Boston area, who share their voices and give a face to the thousands of young Black and Latino Gay and Bisexual men who go un-heard. The show also will engage viewers in these conversations through social media interaction.

“There are constantly studies released about us and it is time that we speak up and share our voices. As a young black gay man I am the epitome of all things society hates; I am a feminist who is the decedent of slaves and who is gay. I fearlessly celebrate who I am,” said Amir, co-creator of BrotherhoodTV. “My goal through this show is to let other young Black and Latino Gay and Bisexual men know that they are beautifully made, and that it is imperative that they stand in their truth. But above all it is important that they know they aren’t alone.”

Quincy Roberts Co creator of HBGC and Brotherhood TV also shared, “If we don’t share our stories and share our voices other people will do it for us. This show aims to take back our identity and create an environment where young Black and Latino Gay and Bisexual men know we are the people that we have been waiting on.”

Douglas M. Brooks, Senior VP for Community, Health, and Public Policy at JRI also added “For twenty years Justice Resource Institute, through its Health Division, has dedicated itself to equality for LGBT youth. I am exceedingly proud of this effort and hope that it will serve as a venue for the uplifting of young Black and Latino gay men.”

  1. Cool! It's imperative that ALL are able to have access to share their stories and perspectives. This is the one tool that enables us to understand that bottom line: we have more in common that unites us as opposed to that which separates us.
