¿WRITER’S EXPOSURE ANYONE?

As of late I’ve been experiencing a bit of brain overload when it comes to my blog. I come up with these brilliant entries (or so I think) then when I am done with them I feel that they are crap AND shouldn’t see the light of day. Any of you ever feel that way? Truth is, I've been writing more than ever and I can easily post something, but for some reason if that message isn’t the one that I feel should be read then it stays on my pc. CRAZY HUH?  I suppose that one would think that it is a bit off for me to complain about this, but this just as bad as having a SERIOUS case of WRITER’S BLOCK. I know this is just blogging, but I am sure that each of you feel that this is a focused activity. Blogging requires separation, the ability to be deliberate AND the chance to bar oneself from the demands of rampant ideas. Suppose I need some WRITER’S BLOCK to keep my brain contained, what do you think?

  1. 'Any of you feel that way?' YES, YES, YES AND YES!
I have a notebook with a couple of things I thought I wanted to get out of my system at some point, but they just remain buried in that notebook because when I come back to read them a few minutes or an hour later, I think 'CRAP'.

When I read what I have written I realise that it doesn't come from a deeper place within me, and that's why I don't really feel it.

'Writer's block to keep your brain contained' YOOOUUUU?? REALLY...?? 'CONTAIN' YOUR BRAIN? THE SUN WILL SET IN THE EAST AND RISE IN THE WEST.

  2. I share your pain Gayte. I'm so disillusioned with my blogs the last few days....not that I don't have anything to say, but I can't find the proper voice to express myself. It's tedious, but we all go through this.

Don't give up on us now. YOUR VOICE is definitely one that we all need to constantly hear, my friend!

  3. ...what Shallotte said.

TG-K - my blogger dashboard is littered with unpublished drafts.

Don't beat yourself up. I don't hear anyone around here complaining about what you write. Don't allow yourself to be paralysed by doubt.

  7. TG-K -

I know exactly where you're coming from. I will start a long post about something deep and spend hours and hours revising it.

And after all is said it done, this "deep" post ends up being two paragraphs about some bar or a stupid celebrity I saw one time.

Sometimes it's easier for me just to post pictures and be done with it!

Keep doing what you're doing - we all appreciate your hard work.

    XOXOXOXO

  8. There are definitely days when I don't want to write anything. If I am not motivated or inspired to blog, I move on to something else. Eventually, I think of something meaningful to blog about, and it's obvious that you do too. Love ya, K!

  11. I guess I look at writing and having multiple ideas in my mind as a great mind-blowing experience as being that of a child waiting to be born. Each idea is valued and crafted to perfection and each with a lesson to teach a stranger who might not otherwise ever come to grace your words. For me, here at this moment when so much is resting on my shoulders and mind alike, I take a moment to constitute my objectives and make the most of the "child" in waiting that will come to life upon the screen, or paper, with a proper message and a dutiful meaning. Thanks for the blog and all the rampant ideas you will surely bring to life in your own time.

  15. Happens all the time to me! Especially when I'm responsible for writing other things, or expressing other thoughts than those which I'd rather fixate on. But I have so many half-baked essays and scribbled notes right in front of me that I thought was good in the moment, but I know will never see completion. Sometimes I get so consumed with other things and don't want to write at all! A friend told me that I should be RUSHING to the computer to write once all these other THINGS are done because writing is supposed to be my passion. But it doesn't work that way. Earlier, someone suggested Bird By Bird by Anne Lamott. My partner bought that book for me years ago and I've never cracked it open. I guess now's the time!

  17. Sometime we write stuff that speaks to US as the author. It doesn't always have to be seen by the eyes of others. If YOU got something from the message, isn't that all that really matters?

  18. Well I don't know how you do it but more power to you

I guess you have to be passionate about lots of things to have a successful blog as yours

I'm sure you just need some rest and maybe a fresh eye to get you back on track

THANK YOU FOR YOUR VOICE...
