PERCEPTIONS...

"So, if a potential attacker perceives you as being fearful, confused and ill-fit to protect yourself, the thought of attacking you will enter his mind. That thought will grow into a strong impulse to attack you and he will carry out the action of attacking you. However, if his perception of you is that you are ready, willing and able to put him in the hospital, prison, or the morgue, you will kill the thought in his mind of attacking you. If you kill the thought, you kill the impulse and if you kill the impulse, the action never takes place. Carry yourself with confidence, competence and courage and you drastically lessen the likelihood of anyone trying to do you harm."

  2. So true my friend. Confidence and pride exude strength, not only physical, but emotional and mental as well. This perception often unsettles our enemies.

  3. I would argue that in a lot of cases it is the reverse. Everyday violent individuals are killed to gain reputation. It would depend on the motivations behind the criminal. What he is getting or hoping to get out of it. Either way, being a non-aggressive victim should nit put you in the blame category. I think it is human nature to want to believe that victims somehow contribute, even innocently, to their victimization, because it makes us feel safe. That if we do all the right things, dress the right way, project ourselves the right way we will not be victims. But what may repel one criminal may attack another. The only person who makes the choice in this matter are the attackers.
