AS I READ THIS ENTRY, IT STILL SMILE @ THE NOTION THAT ‘STRAIGHT’ FOLKS STILL GET ALL WORKED UP ABOUT HOMOSEXUALS. WE ARE MORE TOO OFTEN THE SUBJECT OF CONVERSATION & I THINK THAT IS THE CASE BECAUSE THEY DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH US DESPITE THE FACT THAT THEY TRY TO PIGEON HOLD US. ONE DAY THEY WILL SEE THAT WE ALL ARE THE SAME, RIGHT?
HOMOSEXUALITY is a ‘SEXUAL ORIENTATION’ and it is defined as ‘ROMANTIC’ attraction and/or ‘SEXUAL’ interaction between individuals of the same ‘SEX.’ So how does one tell who is a HOMOSEXUAL OR NOT? How can you look at an individual and decipher what he/she does sexually? Take a look at me, tell me what you see? Do you see a MAN or THE FACE OF HOMOSEXUALITY?
When one thinks about SAME-GENDER-LOVING persons; they associate US with rainbows, flare and drama. But if one takes a look into the REAL face of homosexuality, one would find the essence of survivors, pioneers…MEN and WOMEN that are just like any other person on this planet; we are many and are as diverse as the world itself! Can someone tell me how society can’t see us all?

your so right.. but human beings in general are creatures of habit, and we learn from our parent's so it takes along time for change to happen. look how long it has taken for civil rights to be phased in so to speak. well over a hundred years, and there is still ignorant people in the united states. evolution is a slow process. i know i will not live to see it. but i wonder what it will be like when everybody is looked at as equals and nobody is starving or suffering in the world and everybody is free. that's probably something that will never happen. the planet would probably stop spinning and all life as we know it will be gone before humans get over their differences.
ReplyDeleteOne would think that by now folks wouldhave a greater understanding of the same sex loving people, but I guess not because I still tend to over hear conversations about gay this gay that homosexual this or homo that. I've noticed that the younger people are more tolerate and understanding in some areas.
