¿DEPRESSED?¿UNEMPLOYED? ¡GET OVER IT!

ACCORDING TO HERNDON L. DAVIS YOU SHOULD GET OVER YOURSELF IF YOU ARE FEELING DEPRESSED AND/OR UNEMPLOYED...& HERE IS HIS 5 REASONS WHY:
IYou are not a victim. One of the biggest things that happens when we get laid off or fired is that we look for someone or something to blame. Some of us are so quick to say, 'Oh, they are racists.' Stop! We have to see every experience as a learning experience. Sometimes it's really not about us. It boils down to dollars and sense.

II. It's never too late to succeed. If you haven't achieved success by a certain age then you must be a failure and you'll never succeed. It's not true. It's a fallacy that has to be shattered.

III. You are not the check in the box that people put next to your name. You can transcend whatever it is others see you as.

IVDo your own research. Always use as much information around you as possible. Use the Internet and network. We have to be intellectually curious to seek out our next opportunity. If we are expecting it to come us, it's not going to come. We have to go get it.

V. Use your spirituality. We have everything inside us to succeed. We have talents that we don't realize until we seek them out on a spiritual level. I try to teach people in workshops that we can accomplish whatever it is we want, but we have to figure out what that is. We can accomplish this through spiritual visualization.

  1. I do agree with Herndon on most of the reasons he has given although; it is very hard to adjust to losing a job and especially finances one can bounce back with great determination.

  3. I was laid off. Your world does not end.

I networked with friends and picked up odd jobs and freelance jobs. I worked a part-time job to supplement my unemployment.

Every morning I would go online and look for jobs and push out resumes. Then I would stop, relax and enjoy my family and friends.

I discovered you can take $4 and eat on the dollar menu at McDonald's and enjoy the company of your friends. I learned you can get a cheap gym membership for $15 dollars a month and work out to keep your body and mind sharp.

I also learned to rely on God and my faith.

Eventually I landed a new job. I've been there for more than a year. It's the best job I've ever had in my life. But even if I lose it I know God will put me in another one.

Because God never closes one door for you without opening another.

God Bless you and thanks for your blog! I enjoy reading it.
