It never was and never would be. Our Founding Fathers were very specific about that and were determined that there would be a separation of church and state. So please, stop insisting in turning this country into a theocracy. There are millions of people like me who will not stand for it.

I will fight for your right to believe and to worship as you see fit. That is more than I can say for you because not only would you not do that for me, but you have proven in the past to discriminate and punish people like me who have no religious inclinations.

I think that if you were to carry it through, and you finally were able to establish that this country is a Christian nation, you would find very little differences between your Theocratic America and the Islamic Republic of Iran. Intolerance, authoritarianism, oppression, peremptoriness, and a reign of terror would prevail in America just like it does in Iran."Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27292086.post-71889716478006321142009-09-29T20:26:06.506-04:002009-09-29T20:26:06.506-04:00MISS SHALLOTTE - THE OPENING LINE IS JUST MY WAY O...MISS SHALLOTTE - THE OPENING LINE IS JUST MY WAY OF SAYING THAT THE BIBLICAL MAJORITY HAVE A COLORFUL PERCEPTION OF WHAT GOD WANTS...I LOVE THAT YOU ARE A CHRISTIAN, BUT I LOVE THAT YOU ARE NOT A TYPICAL ONE EVEN MORE...

NIL STREET - YOU ARE A MAN OF MANY WORDS...I LOVE IT EVERY SINGLE LETTER!!!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14948903601663342276noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27292086.post-90936280161328633372009-09-28T12:04:13.775-04:002009-09-28T12:04:13.775-04:00Organized religions are and always have been meant...Organized religions are and always have been meant for political issues of power over populations and Christianity makes no difference in the balance. Arrivists studied the fears and credulity of their populations then built storylines about their deities so to gain political power by proxy, by closeness to the superpower, just like your aunt gains interest from the credulous by claiming she can stop bleeding. And it hasn't changed a single bit, with Bush claiming the war on Afghanistan was a holy one, and leaders in the Oriental world engaging in Fatwas over people who don't submit to their religious beliefs. We don't possess any kind of knowledge about the existence of the supernatural, let alone what these supernatural beings would think if they were to exist. Seeing as it's clear that dogmatic books have all been written by humans in quest of power, their value is not any higher than any popular fantasy book, if these people want to believe in their dogmas then they should accept the word "faith" as it really is, a blind BELIEF in UNPROVABLE things, not a KNOWLEDGE of any kind. Without any kind of knowledge, one should not enforce their beliefs onto another for their beliefs don't provide any more knowledge than any other kinds of beliefs. Before condemning us heathens for everything they don't agree with, I would suggest Christians to check in their wardrobe at their clothes so nothing in there is made of more than one brand, because as it says in the book of Leviticus, it is a sin to wear clothes made with two brands of fabrics.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27292086.post-80790639481389876442009-09-28T01:15:28.053-04:002009-09-28T01:15:28.053-04:00Hello kiddo. I'm not sure if I understand what...Hello kiddo. I'm not sure if I understand what you mean by that opening line. But that's a topic for another day.

Anyway, I was also thinking this past Saturday why there's such hostility & misunderstanding between what you call the biblical majority & the rest of society. The more I thought about it, the more it didn't make sense.

I often hear, when people want to justify why homosexuality is not 'normal', that the bible says God created Adam & Eve & not Adam & Steve.

It is as if Adam & Eve were God's first creation & prototype human beings; that all man descended from these two. Unless I have misread the bible, Genesis 1 v26 & 27; Genesis 4 v14, 16 & 17 clearly show that there were other people, other than Adam & Eve, living in the world. Granted, the bible does not say much about these people, but it would be ridiculous to think that everyone on earth was just heterosexual. Can you picture such a world? It's bizzare.

So why does the bible make specific mention of Adam & Eve? In my humble opinion, the bible was not demonstrating that God created man & woman heterosexual. It was trying to illustrate to us how it came to be that man fell from grace. That's all.

And then people also point to the story of Soddom & Gomorrah & how God destroyed that city because of the 'immoral' homosexual behaviour of some of the men who lived there. But this is absurd. My understanding is that the bible was demonstrating how people had become lawless & no longer respected God. If I remember correctly, those men wanted to have sex with the two angels who had arrived in Lot's house. I don't think homosexuality had anything to do with God's anger. If that was the case, does it mean the whole town with the exception of Lot & his family, was inhabitated by gay men & women? That's plain stupid.

From what I see from the bible, God had always punished, indiscriminately, anyone who did what was not right. Including his chosen ones:

1. Didn't God punish King David when he took another man's wife & had her husband killed? HE killed David's newborn son & caused divisions in David's family. Even David's son temporarily took away his rule & slept with his father's wives in full view of everyone.

2. Didn't God take away ten tribes from King Solomon's rule & gave them to one of his officers because Solomon in his old age had started to worship foreign gods?

3. Didn't God punish King Nebuchadnezzar for his arrogance? He lived like a wild animal until he had the sense to acknowledge God.

4. Not even Moses entered the promised land.

What has whom you love & where you put your organ got to do with anything? It's stupid. In my humble opinion.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27292086.post-57689783353882031882009-09-27T19:29:12.888-04:002009-09-27T19:29:12.888-04:00CPA DOC - THANK YOU

Selective quote-mining of the text doesn't benefit anyone. What we see here is the worst form of human behaviour - the majority ganging together to pick on a minority. What would Jesus do?
