PROCRASTINATION ¿IS THERE A CURE?

Nothing short of the surgery of ‘stopping’, and examining the roots of why I am in frequent dissonance with myself. I know that NOTHING positive grows in the dark, and shinning the light on ‘who I am’ and why, cracks open the door of insight. So I can't help but wonder why I have such a procrastinating position on certain things in life. I know that in order for me to get to step "B" I need to start with step "A" but...whatever task I need to take care of, i find myself leaving behind the connection I needed to make in order for me to get what done what I need done. I know that   procrastination is the element that pit me against myself, yet I can't seem to get myself moving in the direction I want/need to go. So how do I remove the blocks to positive growth and nourishment that can only enhance my life?

¡I RUN FROM CHRISTIANS!

The word ‘god’ to me has a meaning, and experience that is completely counter to anything I see in a ‘Christian’ so find YOUR truth within and you will be ‘saved’ from all ‘boogie man stories’ of the holy books.

¿CAN CIVILIZATION SURVIVE W/OUT GOD?

Christopher and Peter Hitchens asked that very question and I thought I'd asked you...so can civilization survive w/out god?

MOVE AS ONE!

In human communities, it is not always easy to establish who should be leading and who following. There are many reasons for this, including but not limited to the fact that our ways of determining leadership are less instinctual and therefore less clear. It is very rare that everyone is in complete agreement as to who should lead.

In the big picture, of course, competition is a positive factor, preventing stagnation and entrenchment. However, in smaller groups, when a leader is truly called to the position and his/her constituency is responsive to their leadership, an enormous amount of work can be accomplished. This tends to work only if the individuals in the group share a powerful, heartfelt common goal. This goal is the unseen force that directs and guides the group so that they can move as one.

THE WEDDING

Her name is Katie Kirkpatrick, 21 yrs old. Next to her is her fiancé, Nick, 23.

This picture was taken prior to their wedding January 11th, 2005.
Katie has terminal cancer and spends hours in chemotherapy.
Here Nick awaits while she finishes one of the sessions...
Even in pain and dealing with her organs shutting down, with the help of morphine,
Katie took care of every single part of the wedding planning.
Her dress had to be adjusted several times due to Katie 's constant weight loss.
An expected guest was her oxygen tank. Katie had to use it during the ceremony and reception.
The other couple in this picture is Nick's parents, very emotional with the wedding and to see their son marrying the girl he fell in love when he was an adolescent.
Katie , in a wheel chair listening to her husband and friends singing to her.
In the middle of the party, Katie had to rest for a bit and catch her breath.
The pain does not allow her to stand for long period of time.
Katie died 5 days after her wedding. To see a fragile woman dress as bride with a beautiful smile makes you think... happiness is always there within reach, no matter how long it lasts.....
lets enjoy life and don't live a complicated life. Life is too short.

Work as if it was your first day.
Forgive as soon as possible.
Love without boundaries..
Laugh without control
and never stop smiling.

U R A BEAUTIFUL FLOWER IN THE UNIVERSE'S GARDEN

Roses, dahlias, begonias, and azaleas are a
few of the flowers that fill our world with beauty, color
and fragrance. There are many flowers on earth and it
may be impossible to name them all. They come in all
colors, sizes, shapes and scents. Just as the earth
produces flowers of all varieties, the universe produces us in
all different varieties. We each have our own beauty
that is not to be compared to another's. We all are a
part of Universe's precious garden.

YOU are a beautiful flower in Universe's garden. YOU are
radiant with beautiful color. YOU have a special
fragrance in which to delight the world. YOU bless others
with your beauty. YOU should be satisfied being the flower
that YOU are. YOU should treasure and
value the unique blossoms that delight the eyes of others. YOU are
in the Universe's garden.

GAY DATING: ¿WHO PAYS?

Last night I went out on a date — and let me tell you, it had been a very long time since my last one — and I have to say I really enjoyed it.  His name was Stephen, and well, he was not only cute, but he was funny and I felt really good around him.  Stephen asked me out to dinner and after a while of figuring out where we would eat we decided we’d have Thai.  He gave me the details for our little date and instead of getting ready, I laid on my sofa and was on the phone.  And as usual, I was late.  Because it was my (as Stephen joked) “first Thai“, he ordered for the both of us.  It was cute, and he actually chose some great dishes.  It was very good.  We talked, laughed, and kept staring at each other… signs of a good time (at least in my book).  But I was a little disappointed at the end of our date.

¿WHY DOES (UN)SAFE SEX HAPPEN?

If you've ever had unprotected sex, why do you think it happened? What could you have done differently to prevent it happening? Who started it? Why do you think gay men have unprotected sex?

BUILDING A HEALTHY GAY RELATIONSHIP

Is there anything special that you need to know about your first gay relationship? Being a man in a gay relationship is a basically natural process for any gay or bisexual man. You meet someone, there is a mutual attraction, there is an explosive sex life, and then there is the process of bringing two lives together into one. In today’s world, gay men balance more issues than most other identifiable groups.

THE TRUTH, THE WHOLE TRUTH & NOTHING BUT...

So a few days ago, I was taking my boss from Switzerland to get him a local cell so he can be accessible when not in the office. Now on our drive, he asked how I felt about the company and stuff like that. I told him I was fine and I have the accounting down to a science. He said he was glad to hear that and made mention of performance reviews and it was @ this time that he told me that I would do my manager’s and vice versa. Now neither of these men knows that I saw a letter on my manager’s computer saying to our boss that he feels that my probation needs to be extended because he doesn’t feel I am quite ready for reasons that he cannot substantiate. Now my probation was up on the 31st of December 2010 and though I wasn’t given a letter confirming me as an employee, we did sign a contract confirming me and approving my new salary for the year. Now I know it is against the law to try and go back on that agreement and I don’t think they would try, but nonetheless my question to you is this: should I give my honest opinion on his management skills? My manager takes @ least 3 hour lunches daily, spend the rest of the time on the phone, he never knows where anything is or how to get certain things done. And I can say I learn nothing from working with him, so in my assessment of him do I speak the truth or do I make him look good to keep my job?

COINCIDENCE IS WHEN GOD CHOOSES TO REMAIN ANONYMOUS...

THE SINS OF THE HYPERBOLE ¡BEWARE!

Just as some of us are blessed with the genetics to be a great athlete, some were blessed with the ability to recall printed information as if it’s copied on paper, and readily accessible for dispensation whenever the conversation turns to their ‘expertise of borrowed knowledge’. Many leaders in all facets of life are in this category especially, but none are more interesting that the ones in religion arean. They are frequently ‘sinners of hyperbole’ on anything they have chosen to ‘one up anyone’ on. With this ability, they usually invent a craftiness to claim or support their definition of wisdom that others should not question.

These pundits of knowledge are extremely overrated except by themselves and the gullible. However, action leading to the experience of ‘knowing’ the best answers more important than information or ‘knowledge on loan’! There are minds out there in human form that purport to know ‘everything’ on a subject but with no proven experience with successful results, and the ability to offer it intelligently as a gift from the heart. Life can be looked at in two ways: Through a ‘negative or through a positive’ lens and it is up to us to know that through positive lens, we can open up doors to becoming aware, and NOT fall for the sin(s) of the hyperbole.

HOW ABOUT SOME GAY MYTHOLOGY?

A myth is a story with a purpose. It tries to explain the way the world is.  Myths also try to explain the relationship between gods and humans. Even though the events in a myth are usually impossible, they try to send a message that has an important social or religious meaning.

People have always tried to figure out common questions like who made the universe or questions like what causes a storm. Religion, gods, and myths were created when people tried to make sense out of these questions. For early people myths were like science because they explain how things work.  They also explained other questions that are now answered through modern science.

SO HERE ARE SOME MYTHS THAT PEOPLE HAVE ABOUT HOMOSEXUALS...ENJOY!

SEX: HOW LONG SHOULD YOU WAIT?

I read the other day that the longer couples wait to have sex the more likely they are to last, concludes a new study from Bringham Young University. WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS FOR ON SUBJECT WHEN IT COMES TO HOMOSEXUALS?

AN ALTERNATIVE METHOD TO CATCHING FISH

I CAME ACROSS THIS CLIP & I HAD TO SHARE THIS WITH YOU GUYS...THOUGHTS?

10 PRINCIPLES FOR A PEACE OF MIND...

1. Do Not Interfere In Others’ Business Unless Asked:
Most of us create our own problems by interfering too often in others’ affairs. We do so because somehow we have convinced ourselves that our way is the best way, our logic is the perfect logic and those who do not conform to our thinking must be criticized and steered to the right direction, our direction. This thinking denies the existence of individuality and consequently the existence of God.. God has created each one of us in a unique way. No two human beings can think or act in exactly the same way. All men or women act the way they do because God within them prompts them that way. Mind your own business and you will keep your peace.

I EXPECT THE BEST

I believe that everything is working out for my
highest and greatest good. I expect the best in every
situation. When things do not appear to be the best I
stand on what I know to be the truth. I know that what
I need may lie beyond appearances and I continue to
affirm that there is nothing but the best for me. I
anticipate the best in every situation. I know that if I
seek, I will find and if I ask it will be given to me. I ask
for the best. I look for the best. I ask believing that I
will receive. I ask for the best and I anticipate the best
knowing that it is already done.

I expect the best in every area of my life. I
focus on the best and I receive the best in every area
of my life. I know that the best is mine if I will only
keep my eyes and my mind focused on Truth. Thank
you, Understanding – in me, through me, as me,
around me. And so it is.

THE FEMINIST GAY MALE...

As a gay man are you in opposition to sexual and domestic abuse against women? If your answer is yes, why would you follow AND cling to the male dominant view that most hetero-men have? Many gay men reject the trappings of ‘traditional’ femininity. But what's the alternative, machismo, homophobia…self-hatred? When a gay man brainstorms this question, do you think he knows that he is holding on to the negative qualities linked with ‘manliness?’ Do you think that gay men who subscribe to the masculine dominant view of the world know that he doesn’t have to? When is he going to realize that the kind of masculinity he is subscribing is toxic for him? I would like to think that the gay men who largely identify themselves in terms of what they are against, (they're not rapists or misogynists) would reject the machismo in the thugs and overtly masculine men that tend to treat women as objects of theirs. Rather they seem to lap these men up with such pleasure. How can a gay man want to get with a man that sees him as someone who is toxic to his masculinity?

THE BI-SEXAUL BLACK MAN…CAN HE EXIST?

Many of us have the notion that if a man does anything sexual with another that he is gay and rightly so, but what happens if that same man express himself sexually with a woman? Would we consider him to be bi-sexual or confused? Now ask yourself what if that man happened to black…Can he or rather would he have the balls to let females know how he gets ‘down?’ Moreover, can both the homo and hetero community allow him to be that?

ONE SWEET DAY

"One Sweet Day" is a song by American recording artist Mariah Carey and R&B group Boyz II Men. The song was written by Carey, Walter Afanasieff and the members of Boyz II Men: Wanya MorrisShawn StockmanNathan Morris, and Michael McCary. "One Sweet Day" was produced by Carey and Afanasieff for her fifth studio album Daydream, and was released as the album's second single in late 1995. Lyrically, the song speaks about losing a loved one, and one day seeing them in heaven once again, and how the protagonist misses them with each passing day. Both Carey and Boyz II Men wrote the song about specific people in their lives, however also dedicating the song to the AIDS epidemic that manifested itself globally in 1995.
"One Sweet Day" was positively reviewed by music critics, many of whom called it a standout track from Daydream. The song experienced success in many countries around the world, especially in the United States. It spent sixteen weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100 and is the longest running number one song in US chart history. The song also achieved strong success around the world, topping the charts in Canada and New Zealand, and reaching the top-ten in Australia, Belgium, France, Ireland, The Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and the United Kingdom. Carey performed "One Sweet Day" alongside Boyz II Men at the 38th Grammy Awards ceremony, and at Princess Diana's memorial service in September 1997. It was also added to the setlist of many of Carey's tours including the Daydream World Tour (1996), the Butterfly World Tour (1998) and select dates in various others.
The music video for "One Sweet Day" featured snippets of Carey and Boyz II Men in the studio recording parts of the song. Carey explained the reasoning behind the simple video, claiming that due to her and Boyz' busy schedules, they feared there wouldn't be enough time to record the video. For this reason, they had a video set made in the studio while they recorded, and used bits of the recording process for the music video. Carey later said that she was happy a real music video was never filmed, fearing that no video could truly capture the song's "precious message". Critics felt the video choice was wise, and agreed that the simple concept paid homage to the song's selfless message.
"One Sweet Day" was a song that Carey wrote with the R&B group Boyz II Men. After Carey's friend and past collaborator David Cole passed away, she began writing and developing a song that would pay homage to him and all the friends and family her fans had lost along the life's journey.[1] Carey had the idea and chorus composed, and after meeting with Boyz II Men, they realized they too had a similar idea in development.[1] Together, using Carey's chorus and idea, as well as the melody they had produced, they wrote and composed the song. The song was produced by Afanasieff, who built on the song's melody and added various grooves and beats.[1] Carey expressed how the song was "meant to be" and how all the pieces fit into place:
"I wrote the initial idea for 'One Sweet Day' with Walter, and I had the chorus...and I stopped and said, 'I really wanna do this with Boyz II Men,' because...obviously I'm a big fan of theirs and I just thought that the work was crying out for them, the vocals that they do, so I put it away and said, 'Who knows if this could ever happen, but I just don't wanna finish this song because I want it to be our song if we ever do it together. [The] whole idea of when you lose people that are close to you, it changes your life and changes your perspective. When they came into the studio, I played them the idea for the song and when [it] finished, they looked at each other, a bit stunned, and told me that Nat "Nathan Morris" had written a song for his road manager who had passed away. It had basically the same lyrics and fitted over the same chord changes. It was really, really weird, we finished the song right then and there. We were all kinda flipped about it ourselves. Fate had allot to do with that. I know some people won't believe it, but we wouldn't make up such a crazy story."[1]
After they began working on the song, Carey began to incorporate other lyrics into the chorus, trying to make the song relatable to the AIDS epidemic that was in full force in the mid 1990s.[3] Additionally, Carey's sister Allison had recently been diagnosed with HIV, an event that ruined their relationship and tore them apart.[4] Carey has stated that she wrote the song hoping that all her fans that have lost someone could relate to "One Sweet Day" and maybe help ease the pain of the loss.[4] Carey described the song as "[the] whole idea of when you lose people that are close to you, it changes your life and changes our perspective."[1]

"One Sweet Day" garnered very positive reviews from music critics. In his review for DaydreamBill Lamb from About.com gave the song praise, calling Carey and Boyz II Men a "perfect vocal match" and wrote "together they turn what could be a rather morose ballad into a truly inspiring and hopeful performance."[7] Allmusic's senior editor, Stephen Thomas Erlewine praised the song for its craft and writing, commenting that "[in] "One Sweet Day," a duet with Boyz II Men, Carey appeals to both audiences equally because of the sheer amount of craft and hard work she puts into her albums.[8]
Ken Tucker from Entertainment Weekly felt the song truly highlighted the album, "[One Sweet Day] radiates a breezy sexiness that Carey, for all the brazen hussiness of her public persona, rarely permits herself to reveal in song.[9] Stephen Holden from The New York Times shared similar sentiments and wrote "On 'One Sweet Day,' the singer joins forces with Boyz II Men, those masters of pleading post-doo-wop vocal harmonies, for a tender eulogy that suggests that the singers have been personally touched by the AIDS crisis."[10] People felt the song was a "stand-out track" and called Carey's vocal performance "bravura belting".[11]
"One Sweet Day" became Carey's tenth chart topping single on the Billboard Hot 100 and Boyz II Men's fourth. The song remaining at the peak for a record-breaking, sixteen consecutive weeks, from December 2, 1995 to March 16, 1996.[12] Boyz II Men had previously held this record twice, with "End of the Road" (1992) spending thirteen weeks at the top and "I'll Make Love to You" (1994) spending fourteen.[12][13] The former song shares this record with Brandy and Monica's "The Boy Is Mine", and the latter song shared its record with Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You".[12][13]Carey's 2005 song "We Belong Together" and Black Eyed Peas's 2009's "I Gotta Feeling" managed to stay at number one for fourteen weeks as well.[13] "One Sweet Day" replaced "Exhale (Shoop Shoop)" by Whitney Houston at number one, and was replaced by Celine Dion's "Because You Loved Me".[12] The single also debuted at number one, making Carey the first artist to have more than one number-one debut, and the only artist ever to have two consecutive singles debut at the top of the chart.[1] One Sweet Day was the third best-selling single of 1995 in the US, with sales of over 1,300,000, with the second best-selling single being Carey's "Fantasy".[14] The song spent twenty-six weeks in the top forty, was certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and was ranked number one on Billboard's "Decade-End Charts".[15]
Outside the U.S., "One Sweet Day" reached the top-ten in over thirteen countries and topped the chart in Canada and New Zealand, where it was certified platinum. In Canada, the song debuted on theRPM Singles Chart at number eighty-nine on the RPM issue dated December 04, 1995,[16] and reached the top of the chart on January 22, 1996.[17] It was present on the chart for a total of twenty-four weeks,[18] and ranked twelfth on the RPM Year-end chart for 1996.[19]It reached the top-two in Australia (platinum), The Netherlands; the top-five in France (silver) and Ireland and the top-ten in Belgium, Norway (platinum), Sweden and the United Kingdom (silver). In the UK, it is one of Carey's best-selling singles, with estimated sales of over 255,000.[20]
