It's clear ANY victory on our part would stir the hornets' nest; and though we've stood up to ugly attacks more times that I care to count, I can’t help but ask, is our quest for equality worth the ‘societal suicide’ that comes with it?
Equality and freedom always come with a price. The Reverend Dr. King said: "As long as one of us is oppressed, none of us are truly free."
People hate and malign out of fear and ignorance. I don't expect them to be miraculously enlightened overnight. Every victory gives them cause to discover another reason to despise us.
