BE HAPPY was released on December 1, 1994 in the United States, then a week later on December 8, 1994, the single was re-released worldwide, on the Billboard Hot 100, it peaked at #29, then on the Hip-hop charts it was gracefully successful, peaking at #14 for the week of December 8, 1994, then breaking at #3 the following week, also on the Adult Contemporary charts it was peaked at #7, and on the R&B charts it served fourteen weeks from December 3, 1994 until its last week on February 25, 1995, becoming popular and successful, and became Mary J. Blige's hit to date. The song talks about a woman's search for a love of her own and to be happy within that relationship. When I hear the words of this song, I believe that we are deserving of great abundance of happiness in this life. However it is up to each and everyone of us to ensure that we are seeking the path to true happiness when it comes to LOVE & RELATIONSHIPS…
If it were only that simply to become happy. Yes it would be the perfect world if we could ensure that we are all seeking ways to become happy and finding that someone very special or life partner. We seek, but so few find.
ReplyDeleteHappiness is something that is wanted by all but seemingly is found by so few.... I've always wondered why. But it is up to the individual to do what is necessary to ensure happiness in life, love, and relationships. You have to find it within you first and foremost. Can't go looking for it in other places or in other people. It starts with you. And after awhile - it all comes down to choice. Either try to be happy or be miserable for the rest of your life. And that's something I realized not too long after falling in love with this Mary joint. It's a classic. And it's so real, so true to life - like so much of Mary's music.
